Question: I lost my motivation. I don't know how to get it back. How do I feel motivated again?
You are not alone! I think everyone goes through seasons where there is a lack of motivation. Periods where there is a disconnect between the things that we want to do and actually doing them are common. But lack of motivation is not your problem. The reason that we get suck in this mindset is that we are attacking the wrong obstacle. When we miss the root of the issue the only thing that can happen is that the issue grows back and the problem comes back again...and again.
The root is not lack of motivation, it's lack of vision. What we need is a clear understanding of where we are headed. We need to envision the future and see why what we do today matters for tomorrow. If I told you to write an essay you would have no motivation to do it. If I told you to edit those pictures, or go to the gym, or finish that song, or talk to that person, or take that next step or anything that requires effort you would have no motivation to do it. But what if I told you the "why"? What if I could show you the vision? What if I said to do all those things because it's going to give you an opportunity you never expected, a breakthrough, a scholarship, a client or an answer to prayer. What if you could see that the blog you write today launches your new career, or that the thing you were so scared to do becomes your new way of life? The reality is that vision creates motivation. If we can see it, we can achieve it. Hold on to that vision, that dream, because it is what drives us when the going gets tough. It's the root. We may loose focus in seasons and that's okay but never loose sight of the reason why. Never loose sight of the vision. If the dream isn't enough to get you out of bed in the morning then dream bigger. Set your sights on things above.
Vision > Motivation.
